New sewing machine

Well my old Brother computerised machine finally gave up on me two weeks ago. It had served me well for almost 25 years. Seeing me through making clothes for my children as they grew up to become adults. I produced jackets, shirts and trousers for my husband and a  multitude of dresses and garments form myself.
During its lifetime I attended and excelled in a 3 year course of Fashion and Design. There we learned how to design and create our own patterns, make a variety of garments from underwear through to trench coats. Accessories were also created on the course and I became adept at handbag, leather bags, holdalls, hat making and making leather gloves. My only regret is that after such great experience I didn't follow my heart and continue sewing as a profession!
Instead I continued doing part time Science teaching and part time running my father's business. The latter added more strings to my bow because my father was a watchmaker and Silver smith and whilst I decided not to go down the route of watchmaking I did learn the skills of  silversmithing. I started creating my own jewellery.
In latter years I moved further south with my husband and we opened a gift shop in the town. I started making silver jewellery. My mother had shown me how to string pearls and so I produced an array of necklaces featuring cultured pearls combined with semi precious stones.
And again I didn't follow my heart but followed the more demanding but less creative aspect of the business simply because it was the bigger money maker. That was selling trophies!
My husband had joined the business and he set up a trophy website just when the internet first took off. So sewing, jewellerymaking and all my other hobbies took a back seat. Until now!
At last I have finally found me time again and the new Brother sewing machine is just the beginning.
I may be old...ish but I carry a wealth of experience that I hope you will enjoy reading about.
As they say in the press....Watch this space.
